Amad Diallo has revealed Bruno Fernandes has been giving him advice on his game and has opened up about his new role under Ruben Amorim. The
Ivory Coast international has made a bright start to life under Ruben Amorim after being a relegated substitute under Erik ten Hag. Amad
has enjoyed great success under the Portuguese, impressing in Amorim’s 3-4-3 system. The
22-year-old has provided four assists under the former Sporting boss, playing as a right wing-back.
One thing some fans noticed earlier this month was the conversation he had with Fernandes on the pitch after United’s win over the Toffees.
Speaking to ยูฟ่าเบท , the winger-turned-wing-back revealed the details of his conversation with the United skipper : “He told me something I needed to improve during the game and asked me to be more focused at the end of the game. Because that’s what you see with many champions.
“I’m very happy to have Bruno here as a team-mate, he speaks Italian so we have a special bond.” Amad also opened up about the position Amorim wants him to play in, while also praising United’s new manager.
“We try to follow the coach’s philosophy,” he added. “He speaks to the players, he’s a footballer himself, so he understands our feelings and we are delighted to have him. ” I always try to repay the coach’s trust. We’ve got on well since he arrived. He always tries to help me, especially because I have a new role. “This is the position I played at Atalanta under Gasperini, but I played more inside then.
” This wing-back position is quite new for me. I try to play it and the coach gives me the help I need. I’m enjoying every moment at the moment.”
